Cake Flavours

I believe that your cake should taste as amazing as it looks and so I've taken the time to curate a selection of delicious flavours using the best of ingredients to maintain that unique taste. 

 

This menu is based on the most popular combinations, but the world truly is your oyster.  So if you would like to try a different combination, please do not hesitate to ask.  I would recommend that you choose a different flavour for each tier, which maximises the best possible experience for your guests. 

Each of my cakes are approximately 5 inches deep, unless the design dictates otherwise and all sugarpaste finished cakes will have a layer of white or milk chocolate ganache and finished with sharp edges. 

To facilitate the choosing process, I offer tasting samples as part of my wedding cake service, which can be posted or collected.

Vanilla sponge filled with vanilla buttercream

and raspberry conserve

Chocolate Fudge (v)

A rich chocolate sponge filled with your choice of vanilla or chocolate buttercream

Lemon, Blueberry & Elderflower (v)

A zesty lemon sponge dotted with fresh blueberries and soaked with elderflower syrup, filled with homemade lemon curd and vanilla buttercream 

Red Velvet (v)

A deep red sponge with a touch of cocoa filled with seasonal berries and vanilla buttercream

Carrot & Orange (v)

Carrot & coconut cake filled with homemade orange curd and vanilla or orange buttercream 

Cookies & Cream (v)

Chocolate sponge filled with a crushed Oreo buttercream

Black Forest (v)

Chocolate sponge baked with De Kuyper Cherry Brandy.  Filled with forest fruits soaked in De Kuyper Cherry Brandy and vanilla buttercream

Pistachio & Raspberry

Pistachio sponge layered with pistachio cream, raspberry conserve and raspberry buttercream

Coconut (v)

Coconut sponge layered with your choice of homemade lime or passionfruit curd

White Chocolate & Raspberry

White chocolate and raspberry sponge filled with white chocolate ganache and raspberry conserve

Biscoffi (v)

Caramel sponge layered with Biscoff buttercream and crushed Biscoff biscuits

Caribbean Fruit Cake (v)

Rich fruit cake made the Caribbean way with blended fruits soaked in fortified wine and brandy

Additional Information

Although I can provide cakes for those with special dietary requirements Gwyneth Johnson Cake Design is not an allergy-free kitchen, and as such my cakes may not be suitable for serious allergy sufferers.   Vegan options are highlighted with (v) above
